Los Cabos is one of the fastest growing resort areas in Mexico with nearly two million peopled lured here every year. In the recent past it was quite difficult for people to come to Los Cabos, being isolated at the tip of the Baja Peninsula, both Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo were quite little fishing villages. Now with a paved highway stretching all the way to the US border, ferry service to La Paz and a newly renovated International Airport, visitors are only now beginning to rally see the magic that Los Cabos has to offer. Cabo San Lucas, Los Cabos
Is the place where all the action takes place, with its international restaurants beach front bars and mega nightclubs. It is known for its famous land mark, El Arco (The Arch) and Lovers Beach. Enjoy a day of excitement at Medano Beach and participate in the exhilarating water sports: wave runners, parasailing, snorkeling, scuba diving or take a glass bottom boat ride to Lovers Beach. Grab lunch at a beach side restaurant and enjoy the view of Lands End. Have dinner at one of the outstanding restaurants or enjoy a sunset cruise on the Sea of Cortez. You can take a walk along the marina to admire the world-class yachts, or stop at one of many shops along the marina for a souvenir or two!
San Jose del Cabo, Los Cabos
Is a smaller city, with the spirit of a quaint, little Mexican town, but that does not mean that the action stops at sundown. San Jose has a variety of chic restaurants nestled between traditional Mexican fondas and tiendas. Spend a day shopping for silver, Fire Opals and handicrafts. Enjoy live music at the Tropicana or kayak around the Estuary. Be sure to check out the Art Walk offered by the many art galleries or the historic church next to the newly renovated town square.
Todos Santos, Los Cabos
A recent addition to Mexico's Pueblos Magicos(or Magic Towns) due to is many artisan residences, is another great town that can be found along the Pacific coast. The Sierra de La Laguna Mountains, Pacific Ocean and the Baja desert all meet here. Easy to visit during your stay, it is only one hour north of Cabo San Lucas and one hour southwest of La Paz.Visitors also want to view the amazing variety of original art in the local galleries and crafts at the market. Surfers love the many fine breaks in the area while others prefer to relax and absorb the gentle pace and experience the Tropic of Cancer's iridescent sunsets .
East Cape, Los Cabos
Located immediately east of the Marina Puerto Los Cabos and stretches north towards La Paz. Follow along the road past Santiago and, there is access to the numerous beaches facing Punta Pescadero and the area that is known as Rancho Buena Vista, Los Barriles and Cabo Pulmo. Tourism in the East Cape or "Cabo del Este" as it is known locally started in the 1950's, it is know today for its sensational sportfishing, diving, windsurfing and trekking.
The majority of visitors who come to Los Cabos arrive here by air, but you’ll meet many who have traveled by car, bus, boat, bicycle, or even on foot. Los Cabos International Airport (SJD), is located a in San Jose del Cabo and 29 miles northeast of Cabo San Lucas, is easily accessible from most major cities in Canada and the United States. Aeromexico, Alaska Airlines, Frontier, West Jet, Air Canada, US Airways, American Airlines, Virgin America, Continental, Delta, Mexicana, and United are among the preferred carriers offering one stop and direct flights from their hubs. Private charter jets & planes can land here at the 2nd terminal or the private airstrip just north of Cabo San Lucas.
